Accommodation:
There are no less than 338 rooms including four suites. The King, Royal, African and Desert Suites are available on request. The King Suite at The Palace of the Lost City is the epitome of regal luxury with hand-carved walls, frescoed ceilings and hundreds of custom-designed items. All luxury suites at The Palace of the Lost City feature a sauna and Jacuzzi bath, while the Africa Suite even has an additional Jacuzzi on the balcony. The grand pool at The Palace:
The Grand Pool at The Palace of the Lost City is a huge swimming pool and is situated outside the main entrance to The Palace of the Lost City and is intricately decorated with mosaics and sculpture. It’s an excellent way to cool off on a hot day in South Africa. The Pool Braai Buffet and Snack Bar provides light lunches, buffet and snacks in an informal atmosphere. The Pool Cocktail Bar serves exotic cocktails under the cool shade of a pavilion. Both venues are open daily and it’s also perfect for soaking up some of South Africa’s sunshine!
The Valley Of Waves:
The Valley of Waves Water Park is a central feature of the Lost City. This R830-million African fantasy world immerses visitors in the atmosphere of an ancient, exotic civilisation. The 18-hectare playground of the Valley has been described as the best in the world. The Valley of Waves opened in December 1992 and recreates the mystery and marvels of an old age mythical civilisation on 25 hectares of exotic jungle, threaded with a wonderland of waterscapes, and adventure areas in the Valley, which is the largest and most imaginative of its kind ever created.
Overnight visitors to any of the hotels at the Suncity Resort have free access to the Valley of the Waves. This is the most advanced Waterpark in South Africa. A large lagoon dominates the scene with a wave machine capable of generating 1.8 metre waves every 90 seconds. This water park has five exhilarating flume rides. From the aptly named Temple of Courage, swimmers drop a heart stopping 17 metres down a shute and under a bridge before splashing into a small pool at the foot of the slide. For the less adventurous visitor to the Sun City Resort why not take a ride on the ‘Lazy River’?..
Child policy:
Children under the age 12 years (the Hotel Management may require proof of age) on the date of arrival sharing a family room with one or two adult (limited to two children per room) are accommodate for free and pay for all meals. A single adult with 2 or 3 children will be charged single rate. Such agreement will depend on the availability of family rooms. Standard rooms, luxury rooms and suites do not accommodate children.
Children breakfast rates:
0-2 years: No charge
3-6 years: 25% of adult rate
7-11 years: 50% of adult rate
12 and over: Full adult rate
